2024 Season – Project has been a huge success, with installation of four gabion cages, which removes total access by ATVs from entering the Indian Bay River. With the installation of the cages, it now forces ATVs, anglers, and walkers to take the newly created portion of the Heritage Trail that runs alongside the river. We also built a 120-foot-long bridge over a wetland portion so no damage beneath would be caused by this new traffic. Water is flowing freely beneath it with no impact to the surrounding area. FCAS signage has been installed on either end of the bridge to promote the funding of the project. Opened access to eight new pools of various size during our project, while removing dozens of ATV trailer loads of brush and debris from the area. Also spread 20 loads of gravel over the new portion of trail that we built prior to the bridge and beyond it. A lot of positive comments, both via social media and from those we’ve met on the trail regarding the work done this year. Improves the access to the area for all types of activities; should see an uptick in anglers utilizing this area come late Spring 2025.
